Adding clothes and cutouts

How do I get a clean cutout?

Background removal runs on your phone and copes with most everyday photos. A few things make it near-perfect:

  • Lay the garment flat or hang it, with the whole piece in frame and a little space around it.
  • A fairly plain background that contrasts with the garment helps most: a bed, a floor, a door. Busy patterns behind the piece confuse any cutout tool.
  • Even light beats bright light. Avoid harsh shadows and shooting into a window.
  • Shoot straight on, and keep hands and feet out of the frame.
  • Dark clothes on dark surfaces, and very sheer or glossy fabrics, are the hardest cases. Try a lighter surface.
The cutout missed part of the garment, or kept some background

While you're adding items, tap Retry on the tile to run the cutout again, or choose to keep the original photo without a cutout. If it keeps missing, retake the photo against a plainer background. Cutouts are computed on your device, so retrying costs nothing and nothing is uploaded for it.

Can I add many items at once?

Yes. From the Add screen, pick several photos from your camera roll at once. They're cut out one after another in the background while you carry on. You can also shoot pieces back to back with the in-app camera.

The suggested name or tags are wrong

AI suggestions are a starting point. Open the item and edit anything that looks off; nothing is mandatory. If you've turned AI off, you name and tag items yourself.

Subscription

How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?

Make sure the phone is signed in to the same Apple or Google account that bought the subscription, then go to You tab›Subscription›Restore purchases. You'll also find Restore purchases on the subscription screen. To bring your wardrobe across as well, sign in to Qlozd with the account you linked on your old phone.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google, so you cancel in your store settings:

  • iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Qlozd › Cancel Subscription.
  • Android: Google Play › profile picture › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › Qlozd › Cancel subscription.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid being charged again. You keep access until the period runs out. Deleting the app or your Qlozd account does not cancel the subscription. You tab›Manage subscription takes you straight to the right place in your store.

How does the free trial work?

New subscribers can start a free trial on the plan they pick. You're not charged during the trial. If you don't cancel before it ends, the subscription starts and the store charges you for the first period. The trial length, price and charge date are shown before you confirm, and we send a reminder before the trial ends. One trial per store account.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play, so refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; we can't issue them ourselves. For App Store purchases, use Apple's Report a Problem page. For Google Play purchases, request a refund from your Google Play order history. If something in the app isn't working, email us as well so we can fix it.

Can I switch between the yearly and weekly plan?

Yes, from your store's subscription settings (the same place you'd cancel). Pick the other Qlozd plan and the store handles the change and any proration under its rules.

Why aren't prices shown on this website?

Prices are set for each region by Apple and Google, so the exact price in your currency is shown in the app and in the store before you confirm.

Account, sync and data

Do I need to sign in?

Not to use Qlozd. The app creates an anonymous account when you first open it. Signing in with Apple or Google (You tab›Account) backs up your wardrobe so it survives a lost phone or a reinstall and syncs to any phone you sign in on. We use the sign-in only to identify your account.

My wardrobe isn't showing on my new phone

Sign in to Qlozd with the same Apple or Google account you linked on the old phone (You tab›Account), then restore your purchase as described above. If the old phone was never signed in, the wardrobe was tied to that device only and can't be recovered from a new one. If you have signed in and items are still missing, email us with your app version.

How do I export my data?

You tab›Export my data creates a JSON file of your pieces, outfits and wear log that you can save to your files or share to another app. If you also need copies of your photos, email us and we'll provide them.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: You tab›Account›Delete my account, type delete to confirm, and confirm again. This permanently removes your wardrobe, photos, outfits and account. It does not cancel your subscription; do that in your store settings. The full details, including what is deleted and what the stores keep, are in the privacy policy. You can also email rokasj+qlozd@gmail.com.

AI tagging and outfits

How do I turn AI tagging and styling on or off?

Qlozd asks the first time you add an item. You can change your answer later from the You tab. When AI is off, nothing is sent to Anthropic; you tag items yourself and build outfits by hand.

What is sent to Anthropic?

With your permission: the cutout image of an item (to suggest a name and tags), and your wardrobe details with the occasion, weather and notes you enter (to build outfits or a packing list). Not your name, email or account identifier. Anthropic processes this for Qlozd only and doesn't use it to train its models. More in the privacy policy.

The outfit suggestions don't suit me

Outfits are built only from what's in your Qlozd closet, so a thin closet gives thin outfits. A few things help: add more pieces, fix any wrong colours or categories on items, pick the weather honestly, and use the notes field to say what you want ("flat shoes", "office runs cold", "nothing white"). You can swap any single piece in a suggested outfit and save the result.

Something else

The app says it can't connect

Check that your phone is online, then tap Try again. If it persists, update Qlozd from the store and reopen it. Still stuck? Email us with your app version and what you see on screen.
